In the spring of 2020, a self-isolation regime was introduced in Russia due to the spread of COVID-19. This situation did not change my life much. I worked freelance and always spent a lot of time at home.
But my case is rather an exception. All the media sources were saying the same thing: "People's lives have changed. I felt it was important for me to know how people around me were coping with the new conditions.Layoffs, transfers to work at home, loneliness or being together in a closed space all the time. In the photo project I explore how people's relationships change under new conditions, how they feel and what difficulties they face.
I asked the heroes of the photo project to talk about how their lives have changed during their self-isolation, their relationships with their families, and what ways they have found to live comfortably together in the new conditions. I did an online photo shoot via FaceTime, where the project heroes actively participated in the creation of the story. It helped to involve people in the process of creating the shots, to get a quick glimpse into their homes, and even to feel like a secret observer.
